Help with ToneBird.

Set up the app, choose a reply, and understand what happens to your information.

Getting started

Choose your device and get ToneBird ready.

Does it work on Mac and Windows?

Yes. Downloads are available for both macOS and Windows.

Choose your version on the download page.

Which apps can I use it in?

ToneBird works beside readable reply fields in apps such as Gmail, Slack, WhatsApp, iMessage, Discord, WeChat, Lark, and X.

Support depends on the app and the field you are typing in. Some fields may not be readable.

Can it write replies in different languages?

Yes. ToneBird supports multilingual replies.

Review the meaning, names, dates, and numbers in the draft before you send it.

How do I enable it on my Mac?

Allow Accessibility so ToneBird can recognize reply fields.

  1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
  2. Enable ToneBird.
  3. Reopen the app if macOS asks you to.
Why can’t I see the ToneBird bubble?

Check these three things:

  1. ToneBird is running.
  2. On a Mac, Accessibility is enabled.
  3. You have clicked inside a readable reply field.

If macOS asks you to reopen ToneBird after granting permission, do that first.

Replies and memory

Choose a draft, bring in context, and stay in control.

What does ToneBird do?

ToneBird drafts replies inside the apps you already use. It brings in the person, earlier conversations, and relevant facts so you can pick up where you left off.

How do I choose and edit a reply?
  1. Click your reply box, then the ToneBird bubble.
  2. Choose one of the three drafts. Use Tweak to edit it.
  3. Use Insert to put it in your reply box.

Review the message, then send it from your app.

What can it remember about a person?

ToneBird uses relationship memory such as earlier conversations, commitments, preferred forms of address, and where things stand.

That context helps it draft a reply that fits the person and the situation.

Can it use facts from my documents?

Yes. Connect your documents or knowledge base so ToneBird can bring relevant facts and terms into a draft.

Check details such as prices and dates before sending.

Does ToneBird send messages for me?

No. Insert places the draft in your reply box. It does not send it.

You review the message and use your app’s own send button.

Privacy and data

Understand what is stored, processed, and approved.

What stays on my device?

Your tone profile, person cards, learned corrections, and usage counts are stored on your device.

Generating a reply may still send the context it needs to an external model. Local storage does not mean all processing happens on your device.

Can my conversation reach an AI provider?

Yes. The model provider receives the context and instructions needed for your reply.

With a managed model, ToneBird forwards the request. With your own model key, writing requests go directly to that provider. See providers and data handling.

Will it apply new preferences without asking?

No. Learned adjustments wait for your approval.

Review an adjustment and apply it before it changes how ToneBird writes.

Are my conversations used to train models?

ToneBird does not train foundation models on your conversations.

The AI provider processes the content needed for a request under its own policy. Read the provider details.

How do I export or delete my data?

Open Settings → Privacy & Data in ToneBird to export or delete your local data.
