Why we built ToneBird.

Hi there,

Before ToneBird, I was building a proactive AI agent. The demos impressed people, but the product wasn’t becoming part of anyone’s day.

That was painful to admit.

I had to let go of needing the idea to sound fancy and start paying attention to what people were struggling with in their everyday work.

Messages kept piling up across WhatsApp, iMessage, and email. Keeping up meant digging through old threads, switching apps, and worrying about how a reply would sound. Something so small was taking up so much time, energy, and headspace.

Maybe you’ve already replied in your head, just not in the chat. Maybe “Sounds good” is on draft number five. Or “I’ll get back to them tonight” has quietly become next Thursday, and now the apology needs a draft of its own.

So I built ToneBird for it.

If you’re navigating ADHD, experiencing reply paralysis, or simply drowning in messages, I hope ToneBird gives you a little breathing room and a starting point.

Caring about someone and finding the words to reply don’t always happen at the same speed.

ToneBird drafts replies where you already write. It uses past conversations and connected documents to help you recall a promise or find an agreed price.

It also learns the language and phrasing you use, remembering each Tweak so the next draft better reflects your voice and what you want to say.

Those conversations can be personal. Your saved preferences and notes about people stay on your device, and you can delete them.

When an AI provider helps draft a reply, it receives the context it needs. I want you to know how your information is handled.

I didn’t build ToneBird to hand over my relationships.

I built it to help keep the conversations that matter to me going, with the context that makes them meaningful: what we’ve talked about, what I’ve promised, and what matters to the other person.

You choose a draft, edit it, and decide when to send.

My hope is that a little less effort spent finding the words leaves more room to understand each other, follow through, and stay connected.
